What is Sharequity?

Sharequity is an equity Crowdfunding platform. We introduce Investors to entrepreneurs and companies looking to raise capital for their businesses. Investors can browse investment opportunities, explore background information and communicate directly with key personnel before making investment decisions. Engaging through the Sharequity platform enables you to invest online through a simplified, streamlined process.

What is Equity Crowdfunding?

Entrepreneurs and companies, looking to launch or expand their businesses, raise money from an engaged community of investors, who acquire shares and a capital stake in the business whilst control is maintained by the company seeking to raise funds.

Investors

Who can invest via the Sharequity platform?

Retail and wholesale investors. Retail investors are typically ‘retail clients’ as defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (the Corporations Act). All persons (whether a natural person or a legal person) are ‘retail clients’ unless provided otherwise in the Corporations Act. You are a wholesale or sophisticated investor if you can provide a copy of a 708 certificate issued within the preceding 6 months by a qualified accountant that states that you have either:

Net assets of no less than A$2,500,000, or a gross income for each of the last 2 financial years of at least A$250,000 per annum (the amount specified under Regulations 6D.2.03 and 7.1.28 of the Corporations Regulations 2001).

Do you conduct due diligence on the companies that feature on the platform?

Sharequity undertakes an initial due diligence on companies looking to list on the platform, but investments are risky and we recommend that all investors undertake their own due diligence and seek independent financial advice prior to investing.

What are the risks?

As with any investment, there are associated benefits and risks. Ultimately, the value of your shares and the returns you receive, will be dependent upon the success of the company you have chosen to invest in, which is outside of Sharequity’s mandate or control. It is always advisable to carefully research the investment opportunity, review relevant information and seek independent financial advice.

What do investors get?

In most instances, investors are offered and issued shares in a company but each campaign may be structured differently.

How much does it cost?

Registration is free and there are no fees for investors to pay when investing via the Sharequity platform.

What is the minimum investment amount?

There is no minimum amount per se, however each investment may stipulate its own minimum investment.

How do I make an investment?

We are currently automating this process to include electronic documentation and funds transfers.

How do I manage my investments?
